Apparently the bad guys are all redesigned Lyrans, and the movie is clearly taking its cues from the Star Fleet Battles Universe.

Your link is to a video game character also named Kraal and there is no indication there to it being Idris Elba's character, nor is there anything about Beyond there at all.

I had to look it up, but I recalled there were aliens called the Kraal in Doctor Who. Specifically, The Android Invasion with my favorite Doctor, Tom Baker.

I have to admit, i'm slightly bummed. I was hoping Elba would be the "Matt Decker" or "Tracy" of this story or something. Another SF captain who had set up shop on some distant world when ship was crippled.

Still, i'm glad he's in the film. I love his work. He was one of the better parts of Prometheus.
