Ideas for New Terminator Film

Terminator Salvation is set in 2018. Set the new movie 11 years later. It'll be 2029, the year that JC and co found the time displacement equipment. Skynet sends the T-800, and the T-1000 to their respective times. Have JC reprogram a T-800 and send him and Kyle Reese through their respective times. Realizing that some powerful leaders will loose their positions if either hero succeeds, they infiltrate and steal a prototype TX from Skynet. They send her to 2003. Kate reprograms the T-800 that assassinates JC, in a desperate attempt to intercept the TX. There you go. My idea for Terminator: Damnation!

Since the entire existence of Skynet depends on time travel, I've always thought that the humans should target the person who invented - will invent - the time travel process and take them out. Without time travel, Skynet cannot exist, and thus a new, Skynet-free timeline will be created.

Interesting because it was always Cameron's belief that Skynet itself developed time travel. He mentioned it on one of the behind the scenes documentaries on the Ultimate Edition DVD.
I'd always assumed Skynet had created it too. Humans hadn't invented time travel by Judgment Day and they'd certainly have more important things to worry about after the nuclear apocalypse. Plus Skynet was the first to use it.

Terminator Salvation was fantastic. As far as I'm concerned, another movie in the war against the machines. And then a final one to complete two trilogies; the last of the first starts the war, the last of the second ends it.

Two Words: Summer Glau.

Seriously, they should make a big screen Sarah Connor Chronicles movie. If they just leave Sarah completely out of it it will be awesome.

^ I'm still reading that there are people trying to get that film made. I doubt that it'll happen personally, but you never know.

I would like to see James Cameron go back and finish the story that he started in Terminator.

He did already. Thats why he never made more.

I think this series should be left dormant.

Actually he didn't. Cameron has stated before that he'd planned to do a Terminator 3, but could not come to an agreement with a studio. He mentions it on a documentary about the creation of T2: The Ride.

My idea for Terminator: Damnation!

If nothing else, I LOVE your title!

Personally, my issues with Terminator Salvation had less to do with plot and more to do with the visuals. I wanted something that looked more like the brief future flashbacks from the 1st 3 movies, with humanity truly on the ropes.

I'm having this vision in my head of a new movie set in 2029. The war has been going very badly for humanity. Resources dwindle. John Connor has lost his faith and lives alone as a hermit in the wastelands. (In keeping with the franchise's habit of recasting John Connor in each movie, I'm thinking Hugh Laurie this time.) Eventually, Kyle Reese finds him and recruit's him for their most important mission yet-- to locate and destroy Skynet's rumored timetravel technology. You'd have kind of this ironic backwards father/son relationship between John Connor & Kyle Reese, with Connor plagued with guilt for knowing that he has to order Reese to his death. I like this idea of a story of an old fighter regaining his life, reconciling with his own children (who don't understand his affinity for Reese) and reconciling with Katherine Brewster.
