Ideas for a baby shower.

Okay, so a couple I'm friends with are expecting their first baby, and of course, they've got a baby shower coming up. The father is an absolutely huge Star Trek fan. (The song they first danced to at their wedding was The Best Is Yet To Come by James Darren because of the DS9 episode.) So I was think that along with some other stuff, I want to get them some Star Trek themed gifts for a laugh. I was thinking of a sewing bib with the Star Trek communicator embroidered on it, or a teddy bear wearing a uniform. But it would be neat for some other ideas too.

Anyone else out there have any funny gift suggestions? They're keeping the gender a surprise if that makes a difference.

If it's a boy: buy a baby star trek TOS uniform, tear it to shreds and give it to them, proclaiming that "he'll be a fine Kirk someday".

Cute idea a Trek themed shower. You could by paper products and "linens" ..that would really Trek up the place...or is that going to far?

I've seen on ebay they have star trek cake toppers and cupcake toppers. I even saw some homemade star trek pillows, might make for some interesting gifts. I think I even saw some Star Trek hallmark party invites.

I've also seen online sites that sell onsies with Star Trek emblems and such. Also try etsy.com. There are people on that site that make Star Trek things. Fun idea. Good luck and let us know how you do.

YES! I remember it too...although i am thinking it was actually on Voyager...Torre and Paris' baby had it.

You could make one out of the old Hallmark Starship Ornaments...only it would have to have short strings so that the baby couldnt reach up and grab it (as they are not baby safe).

You know...i have a teddy bear with a Starfleet "uniform". I'll have to find out where my girlfriend found it.... if i come up with the answer, i'll LYK.

i emailed my girlfriend who told me she got the bear at the LV Hilton, when she was at the ST Experience.....so, i suppose you could always find one on ebay..but it won't be new....
