Ideal Ship and Bridge.

Basically My question is this regardless of crew (most of us would undoubtably choose our closest friends as the central command crew.) What would be your ideal ship and bridge?

For me it's simple I would choose the Motion Picture refit Enterprise
with a repainted and slightly re-configured Bridge.
the color scheme would match the Original series
The Science station would be where it is WoK-TVH
Communications would be between the two turbo lifts (directly behind captain's chair)
Engineering would be where communications was (TMP-TVH/TFF?)
Misc station originally placed Behind Captain's chair (WoK-TVH) would now be between Engineering and Weapons console)

I'd have to go with the Enterprise D as it appeared on TNG. Who wouldn't want to be in command of what basically amounts to a luxury liner filled with all the comforts and amenities Starfleet has access to?

Plus the interior design matches my taste rather well, calming, relaxing, lots of carpet and potted plants, comfy chairs for everyone...what's not to like?
Plus I really want a replicator.

I would go with a post-Nemesis Enterprise-E with plenty of upgrades.
The bridge would have a a bigger main monitor that's wider and floor to ceiling. With side monitors above the side stations. They would be large flatscreens about 46 inches that are reminiscent of the TOS upper monitors. The helm and navigation stations would be connected as one unit like the old days. The Captain's ready room would be on the port side where it should be. With a back corridor direct to the observation lounge. Starboard side would be the bridge officers lounge with a gangway to below. And my ship has both a bowling alley and a pool. And a thousand quantum photon torpedoes. With some designed as cluster bombs.

Oh. And everybody on the bridge gets a decent chair.

I'd go for a Nova-class starship but with a Defiant-class bridge. Instead of an extra tactical station, it'd have an extra sciences station though.

For the ship, the Enterprise-D, the best ship of that name. For the bridge, the D is okay, but if I had my choice, I'd go with the A's bridge from Star Trek V. I'm still disapointed that it didn't return for VI.

For the Bridge I still prefer the TOS-E's- a clean layout with good ergonomics. If I would alter anything it would be to enlarge the viewscreen and adjust the lighting lower. The Refit bridge broke the design up into little workstation areas and aside from the Science Station with its outriggers all look awkward to me.

For a ship I would prefer either the Miranda or Akira- I like that hunkered down look. If I had to choose between them I would go Akira- I love the idea of the multiple fore/aft through deck shuttlebays and in the artist renderings you can get a feel how wonderful it would look close up.

Ideal ship? The Akira class.

Ideal bridge? The Enterprise-E. Provided they keep the ability to turn OFF the viewscreen when not in use - I always wondered why they dropped this after ST:FC.

(My second favorite bridge is the Relativity - I LOVE 29th-century technology. But it only gets second place because that bridge isn't symmetrical. I'm funny that way. )

The E's view screen as a drop down hologram was a neat idea but it looked strange to have the bridge crew facing a blank wall until it was used.

The Excelsior bridge from TUC and the Defiant bridge. Although I also have a soft spot for the Enterprise D's bridge in Generations.

Ship would be Enterprise-D and bridge would be the Ent-D bridge in Generations.

It was a tough choice for bridge as I also love the Ent-A bridge in TUC.

Tough call between Enterprise TMP refit/A and Enterprise-D, because both are my top two favorite ships, but Enterprise refit/A slightly edges out E-D.

As far as bridges go, my top three are Enterprise-A from TUC, Enterprise-E, and Voyager. Have to go with Enterprise-E on that one.

I also like the Kelvin bridge very much. It's very much in line with the TOS aesthetic, I think.
