Instead of the same old plot of Sharon Stone's character seducing and duping another man who falls to her charms which was repeated in the last two Basinc Instinct movies, her character meets her intellectual equal who she discovers is just as manipulative and twisted as she is. The sequel would be a warped love story with the wicked tension of will these two characters get together or kill each other in the process as they engage in an escalating series of manipulative and murderous games.
