Idea assistance SVP

Working on a fanfic of my own featuring a starship set between (about halfway) a Sovereign and a Wells, and I am *DRY*!

I'm hoping someone has an idea they can help me out with... credit to the designer if they can meet specs, of course...

if someone could give me a simple design direction to follow, it'd be awesome... ive been racking my brain for two weeks and i'm stumped... thanx to the Wells, design lineage is really blurry... but lets be honest, there're only so many ways to configure it so it's recognized as a starfleet ship

i wouldn't mind seeing some rough sketches, but i don't think it should be that big a bother... if modellers are so inclined, great, but it isnt a matter of pick and choose. i want a really glossy end result, and the person who got myself and the other two do this thing would totally share credit.

it's set in starfleet's future so i'm trying to find a non-conventional federation ship design; my writer has suggested a 'giant Defiant', but i don't want to spend the entire time on the design of the ship...

because of the way i work, programs like cad and sketchup are the only programs that work for me, and i really could use some fresh ideas.
