Poor guy. He so desperately wanted to play, even though he's ill. A bleeding ulcer can be a serious thing, though. It looks like it was stress that did this - he'd already started feeling sick before the World Baseball Classic but he managed to get through it. Now he's gotta miss a season opener for the first time in years.

(I thought this was important enough to put in its own thread rather than the MLB 2009 one.)
