I'm surprised as hell nobody's posted this yet. I'm only putting the novels up, since this is TrekLit. Lots of familiar names here. :)

The highest honor the IAMTW can bestow is the Grandmaster Award, which recognizes a writer for his or her extensive and exceptional work in the tie-in field. This year's honoree is KEITH R.A. DeCANDIDO. He has written over thirty novels, most of them original tie-ins or novelizations. His work includes many Star Trek novels, as well as original books in the CSI: NY and Supernatural tie-in series, to name just a few.

The Third Annual Scribes will be awarded at a special ceremony at Comic-Con in San Diego July 23-29. (Specific date and time to be announced)

My congratulations to all of my fellow scribes on the list, and thanks for the challenge of keeping Keith's ego in check after this one...I think? :wtf:

Congrats to Keith on his grandmastery and the others for their nominations (three, Greg? Why don't you leave some for other people, eh? ;)). I can't say I've read most of these, but I hope Day of the Vipers gets the win in it's category.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Congrats!!!

Day of the Vipers was just PHENOMENAL, and Mr. Swallow deserves the win! Is there anywhere where people can vote?

This isn't a vote, I'm afraid. These awards are decided by boards of judges.

Congratulations! It's good to see that the authors of tie-novels are getting the recognition they deserve.

Good luck to all the nominees.

Thanks everyone! I'm still a little gobsmacked by this -- I mean, I'm not even 40 yet, and I'm being named a grandmaster??? And honestly, I'm not sure I deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as folks like Donald Bain and Alan Dean Foster (the other two GMs to date).

But I am deeply honored and touched and flattered, and glad that other folks think I do deserve this. So I guess I'll have to accept it. :guffaw:

Thanks for all the attaboys, much appreciated. As they say, it's an honour to be nominated.

Kudos to Keith for his award - dude, it's all downhill from here...

Does this mean we have the call him Grandmaster KRAD now? :rommie:

Anyway, congrats KRAD and good luck to the other nominees. I hope I can drop in on the ceremony at Comic-Con.
