I would like to know about the star trek fauna

I want to know what animals like Lapling, Corvan gilvo, Cave-rat and Cardassian vole are in the series. And so i want to know what star trek series had more animals and non-humanoid species, thanks you all

Star Trek has never done well with fauna and flora.

You can see a couple references in a past thread here. I think the mention of Phlox's lab in Enterprise is likely the best you're going to get... but even then, I'm really not sure how many creatures even get mentioned in the series, let alone appear on screen.

Star Trek Online has some fauna, but they are sparse on detail.

These things have always been secondary, which is a shame. I'd like to see more attention given to biology worldbuilding in the franchise.

There’s a great series of fan illustrations by @Atolm in the Fan Art section of this board.

Ooooh thanks for pointing out that thread! Love some of the designs very much!

The biggest problem with he fauna and flora in Star Trek (shows and movies) is of course the budget restrictions that's why we rarely see anything that doesn't look like animals and plants you can encounter in the L.A. area.

Those chubby octopus things on New Romulus in Star Trek Online are cute though. What are they called again?

Nanov?

I looked at the rest of them on the artist's deviantart page. But yes, it would be cool to see them on the forum again as well.
