^That's one of the books I was thinking of. A couple of Voyager books also describe some odd or very specialized alien Borg.

Almost as a rule, the way the Star Trek Universe is portrayed in the novels is more interesting and more "realistic" than the TV show. When you don't have a budget the sky's the limit.
