I want to talk about the grifters

I'm not going to mention their names because all they want is attention. Robert Meyer Burnett has seen Picard Season 3 and loved it. He called out one of these online grifters, lets call him "CoomDock" and said, hey watch the first 4 episodes of Picard S3 and come on my show and let's review it. I think you'll be surprised. CoomDock replied : "it doesn't matter if it's good or bad, it's Kurtzman trek and it has to die."

Imagine your entire grift being about hating something whether it's good or not to play to a certain demographic of hate-filled loser on the internet. These people make me sick.

I take it you're not on Facebook.

lol, no I am, and i see I spent my days muting nerd*otic and giantfreaking*** from my feed. Would Star Trek in the 90s survided if we had social media? Imagine if we had Facebook / Twitter when Meridian aired or Move Along Home.

Why talk about them?

Either S3 is actually good, or S3 is not (and fears it won't be are understandable, since it’s the same people who wrote S2) and “CoomDock” is proven right.

If S3 is not good, would you trust them with a live action sequel series to DS9 or VOY? Or if something compels them to give it a second thought, ENT? What about a Lost Era series, or a series that fills the gap between PIC and DIS S3?

Personally, 'Coomdock's' and RMB's opinions mean nothing to me. I didn't like the first two seasons of PIC and I have no illusions that S3 is going to be any better, despite having the TNG cast involved. But I'm still going to watch it and make up my own mind. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. But I'm not so far.

I really liked season one, really disliked season two.

It's all to play for imho.

If someone who claims to have hated every Star Trek production since 2009, including Picard Seasons 1 and 2, is saying Season 3 is great, then something different has has happened with this season compared to everything that came before it.

Maybe it just has something he personally enjoys that was missing from previous seasons.

So that doesn't mean everyone who disliked Seasons 1 and 2 will like this season, maybe just those who like the same things RMB does.

Robert Meyer Burnett called the Axanar script, "the greatest Star Trek movie script ever written" or words to that effect. It's utter garbage. Pewpew ego massage nonsense, with no themes, no substance, nothing. A recommendation from him reduces my excitement. I'm sure he's on the payroll somehow.

After season two and knowing it's much the same creative team making season 3, my hopes are pretty much zero. So hopefully whatever happens, I won't be disappointed.

Think they really hate it, or is it just a grift to make money off of bitter and stupid marks online? I wish I'd thought of it, since I don't have the body for Onlyfans. I want that Youtube clickmoney.

If RMB was all about the hate clicks, then he'd be doing the same thing as Doomcock, keep on hating it, even if it is good.
He's already lost views/fans for praising Season 3.

Look I don't like the guy, he's an asshat and a terrible person, and I'm not defending him, but I just think he does genuinely like it because how much he's hated the other stuff.

Oh jeeze I forgot about that.

I don't watch any of these guys. Or follow them on social media. I honestly don't understand why anyone does. That said, there's plenty of other YouTube "personalities" whose popularity I don't understand either.

He also hated the SNW episode where they deal with the Gorn in a crashed Constitutional class ship, because the away team did not behave like the characters in Alien. Its his opinion.

RMB is a grifter of the same ilk; he courts attention through over-the-top and constant hate of modern Trek. His endorsement of S3, and Matalas' ill-considered embracing of it, makes me even less interested in it (and I was already rather resentful of it for pushing aside characters I liked for those I have no interest in seeing again).

RMB thinks he’s an authority when it comes to what Trek is and what isn’t. He’s constantly bragging about projects he worked on like as if this gives his opinion any kind of extra merit. The only thing that gives him an edge is that he has seen season 3 - but that simply means that he has seen it and that he thinks it’s great. That’s nothing more than his opinion. And yet, as always, he’s acting like as if it is a fact.

Him arguing with the rest of his grifter YouTube friends only creates more attention for everyone involved and therefore both sides benefit from this. At the end of the day that’s all these people want - attention aka clicks aka money.

And Matalas benefits from this as well, it hypes up season 3, hence why he’s so friendly towards RMB nowadays but continues to snap at people who hassle him over the show instead of just blocking them and being done with it. In this special arrangement, everybody wins.
