As part of my duty as a Trek fan I have been showing episodes of all series to my family. So far the response has been almost ravenous....then I mentioned how I hadn't been showing any bad episodes...well they wanted to see bad episodes, so I showed them ST Voyager's Threshold and STV.....my stepdaughter took delight in seeing me squirm during Threshold but we got through the WHOLE mess. And then there was STV........ah yes, STV...we ALL lasted 20 minutes before we shut the DVD player off....

I showed 'The Final Frontier' to my wife, and she pointed out that it seemed improbable the Enterprise A could reach the center of the universe in an hour(that's my baby!). I truly think STV is my least favorite Trek movie.......I'd almost rather watch Nemesis.

Well, it was the center of the galaxy, not the universe, but same difference.



I think TNG's "Nth Degree" mostly "corrected" that. Sybok may well have been infected with a Cytherian probe as Barclay was and fudged-up the Enterprise-A's engines like Barcaly did and afterwards the changes allowed them to get back to Fed-space but the know-how to reproduce the effect was lost.

STV was the 1st Trek film I saw in theatres. It's a good thing I was already an obsessed Trekkie at that young age. Otherwise, that flawed film may have turned me off. Also, since when do the Klingons get portrayed as such paper-thin stock-character type movie bad guys? That's Bullshit.

The effects, shuttlecraft and the Enterprise herself were quite gorgeous though.
