i thought of some humorous alternate titles for the first ten ST films

entity

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
Star Trek: The Inspiration for Screensavers
Star Trek II: The One With All The Quotes
Star trek III: The Link Between Star Trek II and IV
Star Trek IV: The One With Comedy
Star Trek V: The One With God
Star Trek VI: The Showing Of Ages
Star Trek: The Dropping of Roman Numerals
Star Trek: The Best of The TNG Bunch
Star Trek: The Extra-Long TV Episode
Star Trek: The Last Few Drops

what do you all think?

Re: i thought of some humorous alternate titles for the first to ST fi

It ranges from "I've heard these jokes before" to "I have no idea what you're talking about."

Re: i thought of some humorous alternate titles for the first ten ST f

Star Trek: The Inspiration for Screensavers

What screensavers?

Star Trek II: The One With All The Quotes
What quotes?

Star trek III: The Link Between Star Trek II and IV
That's all you have to say about this film?

Star Trek IV: The One With Comedy
I think the morality story about saving the whales trumps "Double dumbass on you."

Star Trek: The Dropping of Roman Numerals
Which has nothing to do with the plot of the movie.

Star Trek: The Last Few Drops
???

TMP had long moments of trippy colors and shit

TWOK is the one people quote most often

TSFS is just fluff

TVH is a total comedy you serious? or do you not have a sense of humor

generations barely had a plot

the last few drops referes to nemesis and how they were milking the last few drops

Whether I have a sense of humor or not has nothing to do with the plot of the movie. It had humor in it, yes, but the movie wasn't a comedy like Spaceballs.

generations barely had a plot
Really?

Re: i thought of some humorous alternate titles for the first ten ST f

What? Generations had one big plot and a few tie-in plots from it and the series. To say it has barely a plot, reminds me of all those score fans back in 2002 who were saying Elfman's score to "Spider-Man" had no theme -- it's plain as day. :wtf:

In fact, the plots are terribly simple and not have to get; two main ones:

Having lost his wife and children to the Borg and later discovering the Nexus -- a place he found of happiness and ability to have them back -- he stops at nothing to return there.

And the important subplot of Data's continuing quest to become more human, this time taking it to a new level and experiencing emotions with Lore's emotion chip.

Oh, and an overarching plot theme of life and death.

Ok you got me

Re: i thought of some humorous alternate titles for the first ten ST f

ST:TMP, in my mind has long been Star Trek: Where Nomad Has gone Before

Re: i thought of some humorous alternate titles for the first ten ST f

Sorry, Star Trek IV will always and forever be "The One with the Whales."

Which is how 90% of the world remembers it. :)

Re: i thought of some humorous alternate titles for the first ten ST f

TFF could be considered "The Way to Eden: The Movie."
TUC is "The Hunt for Red October... in space."

Respectfully, this wasn't a gotcha response; you were factually wrong.

Some quickie alternate titles:

Star Trek IV: The One with the Whales
Star Trek V: The One that Almost Had Rock Monsters

Re: i thought of some humorous alternate titles for the first ten ST f

How about:
Star Trek V: If Thou Seekest God, Thou Endest Up With Klingons. :D

(runs...hides)

And I concur. That's the title my friends and I use, esp. non-Trekkies who want to watch the movie in the first place!

Re: i thought of some humorous alternate titles for the first ten ST f

The Star Wreck novels had some good titles.

  • Star Wreck: The Generation Gap
  • Star Wreck II: The Attack of the Jargonites
  • Star Wreck III: Time Warped: A Parody-Then, Now and Forever
  • Star Wreck IV: Live Long and Profit: A Collection of Cosmic Capers
  • Star Wreck V: The Undiscovered Nursing Home
  • Star Wreck VI: Geek Space Nine
  • Star Wreck VII: Space the Fido Frontier

Re: i thought of some humorous alternate titles for the first ten ST f

My list from 2013:

ST:The One with the Bald Chick
ST:The One with the Crazy Guy
ST:The One where the Enterprise Blows Up Real Good
ST:The One with the Whales
ST:The One with God
ST:The One with Pink Blood
ST:The One where Kirk meets Picard
ST:The One with the Borg
ST:The One with the Creepy Old Guys
ST:The One with the Romulans
ST:The New One

Hrm...I'd have to re-check my original post, but I think I must have been aiming for Friends-styled titles. Oh well, it still works.

what do you all think?

I think you you use the word "humorous" loosely. I also think you didn't do a similar thread for the nuTrek movies. So let me help you out:

Star Trek: A Quick Tour of the New Budweiser Plant

Star Trek: The Star Wars VII Practice Run (a.k.a. ST: The Quotes Strike Back) :guffaw:

Re: i thought of some humorous alternate titles for the first ten ST f

Star Trek IV: The One with the Nuclear Wessels

Star Trek V: The One Where Uhura Dances Naked

Star Trek VI: Eev Shoes Fits, Vhear Eet

Star Trek X: The One That Shit All Over Seven Years of TNG

Re: i thought of some humorous alternate titles for the first ten ST f

I refuse to post in this thread.

Exactly. Only hardcore Trekkies know the actual title of that movie. I've been joking for year that Paramount should just bite the bullet and retitle it "Star Trek IV: The One with the Whales."

Not to be confused with "The One Where Spock Dies."
