Here's my idea:
During a scene at Starfleet Academy, as young Kirk and Spock are walking down a hall, a Borg drone just happens to walk by them for absolutely no reason whatsoever (to which Kirk and Spock make no reaction at all). No explanation or reason is ever given for this. This would make the audience say to themselves, "What the fuck?! What is a Borg doing in this movie?! OMG LOLs, that's really weird!" while scratching their heads. Then a minute later after it sinks in, the audience would smile to themselves because it would be a pretty light-hearted moment that, well, just makes you feel happy inside, as if the movie is telling you We're gonna have fun with this movie.
I think this would be a nice nod Trekkers who still love the Borg a lot.
