I talked to Lance Bass on the phone

As some may know, I bartend at the local TGI Fridays. It's attached to a hotel which is about a 30 second walk from the iWireless Center (which is a big arena that hosts hockey games, arena football, and big concerts). Well, last night the "Dancing with the Stars" concert tour came through town, and they all stayed at the hotel next to my restaurant.

We occasionally have celebrities from these shows eat in our restaurant. I personally waited on (get ready to be super jealous) Hannah Montana last year during her tour.

Anywho, last night, a couple hours before the show, Lance Bass called down to the bar and ordered room service. So I took his order. I didn't realize it was him until the other bartender who actually delivered the room service came back to the bar and said so. But either way, I talked to Lance Bass on the phone last night.

Go me.

year's ago i worked at a company making custom furniture. well, i was answering the phone one day and a gentleman called and claimed to be tony danza. of course i didn't believe him.he was a bit obnoxious and i hung up on him. i found out later that it indeed was tony danza.oops! my bad!

Hah, cool story. I met Chuck Yeager at an auto show a few years back. I forget why he was there but they had some sort of feature on avation and he was the guest speaker. They showed parts of "The Right Stuff" and he talked about setting his record and also about making the movie. I then got to shake his hand and got his autograph on a hat.

I've run into Ted Koppel at work a couple of times. Once in the cafe, getting coffee, and another time I was walking out the front door and he was coming in, so I held it open for him.

I sold Sarah McLachlan a cordless drill at the Home Depot, she was very nice. I also exchanged Vulcan salutes with Tim Russ at a mall in LA, didn't speak to him though.

Tom Green came into my store to buy sharpies once. And he spilled coffee all over our counter. I was throwing away plastic bags for a week. I wasnt happy.

I have also had the random interaction with NHL players but I wont go into that, only that makes ME giddy.

I served Tom Green at an East Side Mario's in Ottawa just before he made it big. I didn't know who he was until one of my co-workers told me. It was a very strange experience. He kept me at his table for about 10 minutes telling me about his first job as a vacuum cleaner salesman.
