I saw Non Sequitur yesterday...

Very good I thought. Underrated even. An example of the kind of thing Braga is best at.

Definately an entertaining episode, though I personally thought Projections was a better (and also underrated) episode that truly showcased Braga's talent as a writer.

I remember in Non Sequitur Harry learns his best friend Danny Byrd was assigned to Voyager instead of him. In later seasons we learn B'Elanna was bullied by Danny Byrd when she was a child. Wonder what things were like in that timeline on board Voyager. Hell, if Danny Byrd also ended up in the Ocampa hospital in Caretaker with B'Elanna than that must have really pissed her off.

Danny was fertile enough to be impregnated by caretaker.

Now, that's what really would have changed everything.

Would Janeway have stayed to Danny came to term?

Would she have taken a caretaker foetus off to Earth with her?

I liked how Tom came through for Harry in the alternate reality.

KIM: You're the last person I expected to help me.
PARIS: Let's just say it's been a long time since anybody gave a damn about my future, including me. I don't know if I'm supposed to be on Voyager like you've told me, but it sounds a whole lot better than the life I have here. I'm willing to take my chances, Ensign.
KIM: Call me Harry. You always did.

Yeah, that's good too. Braga's one of my favourite Trek writers.

Is it wrong to enjoy this episode solely on the basis that I find Harry Kim adorable?

...No, that's not the only reason. The writing on this is great, I agree. I actually haven't seen it in a while! Probably time to throw it in and give it a look-see.

Also, I absolutely agree with Projections. I know not everyone likes it, but I loved it the first time I saw it, and it gets more enjoyable each time. If anyone has sleep paralysis + those creepy dreams where you keep waking up into more dreams, this episode speaks straight to you, lol. Plus, you know, it's got oodles of my most beloved Reg Barclay.
