But i will try anyway this is going to be point blank barebones question Jusrt what does the Doctor really mean to you?

he has been around now for quite sometime and just perhaps longer then you ever might realize!

so the question is what foes he really mean to you is does he mean far more then you will ever really admit to!

is he truly Omnipotent that is is he and does he heve powers he is far more then just another time lord!

in my own personal opinion yes he most certanly does and he is far more then he is ever really letting on!

so think rel hard about it and then post replys and let me know i might have more later on this!

Thank's Jay!

Are you asking if I want to suck his dick?

is he truly Omnipotent

No.

Depends who's writing.

Those Gallifreybase users are starting to realise there are other places to discuss Doctor who, aren't they.

The Doctor is just a fictional character. I really love the (new) series (haven't seen much of the old one, yet) and think that it often cuts to the heart of the human condition. But I don't model my life after the Doctor. I appreciate that he's a positive figure people (especially children) can identify with but that's about it.

Ah don't mind them. Thats just how we say 'hello' around here. :D Welcome to the forum!

Anyway, to me the Doc is one of the few proper old-fashioned 'heroes' left out there who'll solve a problem with his intelligence rather than a BFG. As I've gotten older I've learned to appreciate that more and more.

Plus its a show I can always count on being able to watch without feeling stupider afterwards. Or even better, predict how its going to end within the first 15 minutes.

He's a fictional character who goes from being likeable and interesting (1-8, 10) to appalling (9).

I was thinking of doing a Hater Revisits nuWho or similar kind of topic, a la GodBen and Voyager. Would anyone read it?

Of course not, because there's nothing in the modern Who to hate. :)

Possibly. I don't want this forum to be a total lovefest, but most of us avoid places like GB just because of that sort of thing.

I wouldn't be nasty about it. I used to watch a lot of the old Doctor Who as a child, and have been fairly disappointed by the new one, but I was thinking of giving it all another go. There have been episodes I do like, I'd hasten to add.

That's all the convincing I need. Can anyone think of any clichés I can count? So far I've thought of deus ex machina resolution, handy screwdriver, and failure to operate the Tardis corectly. Also considering unnecessary innuendo and Earth Again.

The Doctor is a hero who's been around all of my life. I'm fond of him in various incarnations and not fond of him in others. Lately I've found him to be hot, which as been a novel experience, but at my age I can live with it!

Yes now thta we just may have gotten somewhat beyond the!?

well whatever that beginnning stuff just may have been maybe we can get down to the real question idea of what i did mean by asking this whole question to begin with and that was just about what does the doctor really mean to you!?

so!?

[pedant] question mark, THEN exclamation mark. Makes it easier to read [/pedant]

The Doctor, between the late 60s and the early 80s, was a staple in my life, and it's always good to have something like that around. The endlessly inventive storytelling has made it one of the SF greats.

And I don't agree about 9. Ecclescake was pretty damn good.

...you are either the most brilliant alt-id I've ever seen on a message board, or English is your third language. And you might need medicine.
