If you're hardline on canon*, you should have given up on Star Trek a LONG time ago.

Canon often requires continuity. But how do you see the difference?
I still can't wrap my head around how "canon" came to mean "visual continuity" in Star Trek, especially how it came to mean a subset of fans claiming the responsibility to police a franchise and its creators on strict adherence to 50-year-old design choices before anything else. Star Trek is and has always been mainly a product of its time, and it's preposterous to expect a work shot in 2019 to look and feel exactly the same as another one from 1966.
For me, it's the same story, it just looks different. I never felt the need to resort to mental gymnastics about alternate timelines to justify why it looks different. It's a TV franchise, not an historical documentary.

Canon has nothing to do with continuity. It's simply the collected "official" works. In the case of Trek- all televised episodes and produced movies.
If canon equated to continuity, half of Star Trek would be out.
Canonical = Everything we see in a movie or TV episode under a specific brand is real and happened and accurate.
Noncanonical = Everything we read in magazines, novels or comics, or see in behind the scenes or cast/crew interviews, or fanfilms, or wacky fan speculation conspiracies in forums and news letters, under the same brand as above, is unreal, didn't happen and inaccurate.

Somehow, due to heavy TNG bias, I don't think the same will be asked by most people about Picard, unless they happen to think it's an extension of Discovery.
Anyway, the nature of TV is evolving. Web Series Originals are the future. Network TV will have a severely diminished presence without Baby Boomers. The main networks will have to have streaming services like CBS All Access in order to survive in that eventual landscape.
But it's shown on cable TV in other countries!

Does Netflix canonize Media, or is any media, any Star Trek media specifically, on Netflix noncanon until it airs on terrestrial TV later in it's lifeline?

Are we still doing that? Yeah, it's canon, and season 2 even proved (arguably, but at least they tried very very hard to) that it's in Prime.

I was watching a farewell to orange is the New black this morning on youtube, where the cast was talking about their first days..."My mom was super pissed that she had to pay the internet 7 dollars a month to watch me in a webseries, and who the hell is going to watching us any way?"
No one considers Netflix Originals to be webisodes any more, if they ever did, but I found it amazing to see how new media disrupts the agreed upon ancient rules of canon.

Discovery is licensed officially to Netflix and produced and released by the franchise owner.
Doesn’t get more canon to that.
Since the owner of said franchise says it’s in continuity, that’s also official.
If your own head claims something different for your own enjoyment, then you have the right to, but can’t claim authority over what others, including but not limited to the franchise owner considers canon/continuity or what to do with it next.
