But you never know where the writers will find inspiration from.
This NX-0002 might make it to the next Star Trek movie or tv show.

J.J. Abarams and his crew always said that they would also include TrekLit and whatnot in the big pool of background information where they take their inspiration from. I really would like to know how far they went in their selection of sources, where they did actually draw the line, if any...

I'd say they didn't take much since they're not even including a character as important as Robert April in the movie.

I was actually at one time, thinking about changing it to May 0009 just to be even more annoying.

But thought better of it in the long run just because I agree with some of the stuff you object to.
