I own a Spice Girls CD

The Spice Girls were fun prefab bubblegum pop. I never bought their albums, but I enjoyed the singles from both Spice and Spiceworld. They weren't as good after Ginger left, though.

Which one?

Funnily enough, this cropped up elsewhere recently on the board, can't remember exactly where: a single of C'est La Vie, by Bewitched.

Yikes. :D

Damm you Holdfast!!! That was me! Wasn't that one moment shameful enough???? For the record, they were spelt 'B*Witched".

No, I meant I own that single. So you do as well?

Um, we will never speak of this again.... :o :D

I stupidly buy music that friends "recommend" so lets see, t.A.T.u, Dido, Avril Lavigne, Bif Naked, Gwen Stefani all bunched up at one end of my collection lol.

Is the OP like some sort of 12-step "making amends" posting? 'Cause you should be flogged with plucked chickens until bruised silly!
for owning a spice girls cd?
It's a good start!

Actually, I've been in broadcasting for 25 years, so I've gotten plenty of recordings by artists some think are silly over that time.

Only for free, of course. ;)

Oh god, I let that information out for no good reason! Dammit! :scream:
Single? Please, i own the album good sir.

But you're right, lets never speak of this sad, dark, time again.

Absolutely.

Or I'll huff, I'll puff, I'll huff, puff, blow you away...

I own Paula Abdul's "Forever Your Girl" A girlfriend bought for me back in the 80s. Sometimes its best not to mention who you find to be "hot".

My wife has a lot of CDs that I would never buy. They're sitting on the shelf with mine, so I guess I own them. (Neil Diamond, Barbra Streisand  )

I have CD singles of Paula Abdul's "Rush Rush" (remember the video with KEANU REEVES?) as well as "Blowing Kisses In The Wind". :D I see your point.

What CD's do you own that you are not proud of? :D

Pfft

I own both Spice and Spiceworld. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!!

P.S. Don't tell anyone though. :borg:

Too late.

I have nothing that tragic in my collection, as I'm a music snob. Probably the worst thing I have is an old CD from Lost Prophets.

Well to be honest since then I've become quite a music snob myself, but I still have a soft spot for the Spice Girls.

That would be my Bros collection. I was still very young back then. :p

Don't ask me why I haven't thrown it all away; I even kept my posters. :o

You'll pick on me, I think...

I have the latest Celine Dion album and a couple of old Nana Mouskouri ones.

Why?

Because, while they are picked on for being cheesy or old fashioned or whatever, they are absolute masters of their instrument, the voice. Hell, if Nana Mouskouri gets a song written specially for her by Mark Knopfler ('Why Worry?', iirc) and can work with the likes of Vangelis ('Missing'), then she's good enough for me, a voice of stunning purity.

As for Celine, I saw a film clip of her doing an AC/DC song and it really was awful, but she does a top version of the Heart song 'Alone'.

Go on, hurl your insults...

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

I have Ace of Base-The Sign...but I'm not really ashamed of it.

Nor should you be as they are one of my favourite groups of all time. They have a new album coming out this year, albeit without the blond lead singer, Malin, that got them into the spotlight in the first place

I'll admit I've got a fair few ultra-cheesy tunes in my collection (three Girls Aloud albums for a start plus a Lionel Ritchie one and a couple by Dollar :o ) but nothing I'm flat out ashamed of - they've all been bought for a reason.....

CD's? I got rid of that horror. I do have some cassettes from the 80's. though... Buried!
