Hey Everyone,

I don't know if this is the right place to put this thread or if I should be posting about it, but i need your help.

My girlfriend has set me a little challenge, get 100,000 people to join a Facebook group and we can 1, get a husky and 2, call it Tiberius.

She thinks its a silly name, can we prove her wrong?

There's got to be at least 100,000 Star Trek fans out there that think its a good idea : ).

Here is the link,

Again sorry if I'm doing anything wrong, my first post on this board.

Live Long and Prosper.

Since it's your first post an no one here 'knows' you, i don't think this will go far.

You said you'll get a husky...a husky what?

No. I think these FB challenge things are stupid. Getting a dog is a huge commitment -- really, when you get right down to it, a bigger commitment than having a girlfriend. If you want to make that commitment, get the dog. If you love your girlfriend enough to let her dictate what commitments you can and cannot make, then perhaps you should marry her. And for the love of Pete, leave Facebook out of these decisions. Letting 100,000 random strangers run your life? Sorry, but that's made of fail.

Again, sorry. This is just a pet peeve of mine.

-k7, sick and cranky.

^^ Apparently it's already that bad if she gets to tell him he can't have a dog and name it what he likes.

Look, marriage, like any relationship takes a lot of mutual respect to make it work. In my marriage, my wife and I are equals. We each get an equal vote in any decisions we may have to make.

In case of a tie, she gets the deciding vote.

<----- married seven years. I know what it requires.

What bugs me about these dumb FB challenges is how arbitrary it is. It's like, "Jump through this ridiculous hoop and I'll support your decision." What? What difference does it make if he gets some randomly chosen number of Facebook fans? Equal say in a decision between a committed couple is one thing ... but why does FB get a say?

I know, I know. I'm taking this too seriously. But really, after that first funny pirate ship one, the rest have been stupid. I saw one where they were going to name a baby Optimus Prime. Either they're kidding, in which case, there's no point ... or they're serious, in which case, they need to examine their priorities in life.

Like I said. Pet peeve. That's all. I now return you to your regularly scheduled fanning this guy's FB page so he can get a dog and name it Tiberius (which is an AWESOME dog name, by the way).

Actually, I handle all the big decisions: International Relations, the National Defecit, the Health Care Bill. I let her take care of everything less than that.

Ok, the request has been made, but there's not anything really Trek-related to discuss here so I'm going to go ahead and close this.

Mike.Sharp1986, welcome to the board! I hope you stick around.
