I Must be hooked...

I went out and used my birthday gift Visa to pre-buy Modern Warfare2. Love COD and am totally hooked. Darn thing doesn't even come out until Nov! Plan to buy one of the COD controllers(360) too. Any body else need a 12 step program? Addicted to gaming, or a series of games? Anybody else buy the MW2 yet, as well?

Pre-orders always seem like a huge risk to me, but it's cool that you're excited over it. Not sure about MW2, but it could be worth a rent when it comes out.

Worth a rent? Wow, tough room! I thought MW was one of the best online multiplayer shooters I'd ever played. I expect good things from MW2. I can't blame the TC for being excited about this game.

I was just telling a friend how I'm going to quit buying games when they first come out and wait until the used prices go down. MW2 will be the exception, and I'm sure I'll pre-order it too when we get a little closer to the time.

I'll never understand how people play FPS games on that controller.

Well, you first wrap your hands around it. Then you put your thumps on the sticks. once that is done you take you're pointer fingers and wrap those around the triggers. Once that is done, you're all set ;)

Honestly, as someone who games on both the PC and Consoles, I find both the controller and keyboard/mouse work well for shooters. You just need to get used to it, as with any means of controlling a game

I get addicted in spurts... which means I put about 15-20 hours into a game if I like the multiplayer and then just quit.

And that has only happened with Battlefield recently. No other games have grabbed me in the same way (un)fortunately.

Yeah, I'm more comfortable playing FPS games with the Xbox controller now than I ever was with the mouse and keyboard. It feels a lot more natural for me. Trying to play an FPS with the PS3 controller sucks, though.

As for MW2, I'll be buying it on release day. I don't really care for pre-ordering, though; there are always plenty of copies around town. I'll probably buy the Hardened Edition so I can get the code to download CoD1, which I've never played.
