I just finished book 2 of the Destiny trilogy and enjoyed it, but I haven't read the A Time To... series, so sometimes I forget that Data won't show up (well, that was Nemesis) among other things.
I wonder if there will ever be any TNG books set during it's original mission. I miss having everyone back together.
As Bill said, there's always the
Slings and Arrows miniseries, which chronicles the first year of service of the
Enterprise-E leading up to
First Contact. Most of the gang is together for it -- the only exception is Worf, but he is in Book 6.
At present, the tale is only available as six eBooks, but the soonest we'd see a print compilation is 2010.
Book 1:
A Sea of Troubles by J. Steven York and Christina F. York sees the Big E on its maiden voyage, only to discover that there's a changeling infiltrator on board.
Book 2:
The Oppressor's Wrong by Phaedra M. Weldon shows the Big E's side of Admiral Leyton's
coup d'etat ("Homefront"/"Paradise Lost"), and also introduces new security chief Lieutenant Daniels (from
First Contact and
Insurrection).
Book 3:
The Insolence of Office by William Leisner highlights Troi and La Forge -- the former to deal with the birth of her half-brother, the latter to face a critical decision regarding his VISOR.
Book 4:
That Sleep of Death by Terri Osborne sees Crusher trying to cure a plague that is running rampant through the ship, with some unwanted help from the ship's EMH.
Book 5:
A Weary Life by Robert Greenberger has Riker confronting the ghost of his "twin" Tom Riker, as he is sent with Daniels and La Forge to try to stop a Maquis weapons shipment from happening.
Book 6:
Enterprises of Great Pitch and Moment by Keith R.A. DeCandido is a full-bore
TNG/DS9 crossover as newly elected Federation President Min Zife sends Picard and Sisko to try to open a dialogue with Chancellor Gowron to end the conflict with the Klingon Empire.
The links are all to SimonSays's pages for the eBooks. I'm quite proud of this miniseries, and I strongly recommend it for them that miss the pre-
Nemesis days.
