To me, it just looks more like a progression forward to the B from the A, or C from the B.

The Enterprise C we got was more of a progression back from the D. Not bad looking, but 20 years before the D could have easily looked like this ship.

I like Probert's original design for the Ambassador as the E-C, so if we were to take your path, I'd prefer it to be the E-B I guess.

All I know is that I like it. Though honestly I think (and I said to Spencer once) that it needed the "Excelsior pattern" saucer phaser positions. The saucer looks a bit "bare" with just the Connie/Miranda layout.

She has well executed model work going for her, and playing a remixed version of the Enterprise was a plus.
But the neck, as has been noticed, did not capture the grace of the Connie or Excelsior. The blocky neck might've worked for the Churchill, but not for the Enterprise. I wonder if rounding the front and or back of the neck would've been a better design choice?

And the nacelle pylons, trying to merge the design from the Connie and Excelsior definitely didn't work here. Here, we have wings sticking straight out of the engineering hull, looking straighter than the airplane wings of old.

A better choice of design elements probably could've also been chosen for the nacelles. Too much of angular courtesy of the refit LN-whatever-the-fan-designation-is design, and not enough curvature from the Excelsior's.

Then there is the weird navigational deflector and engineering hull, or should I say how they seem to approach different design philosophies, with one being a semi-circular design, while another is a complex shape that I don't know a term for. One approach should've been picked, and been stuck to.

There is also that trench in the ventral of the saucer, which is mostly circular, but ends up abruptly returning to the center. I think it might've been better to just let it continue with the circular shape. There is also the possibility of doing something with the shape of the rear of the saucer, and reflecting that curvature/angle in the trench, though that might take some playing around with to get it to look "right", if that can actually work out.

Finally, she definitely has room for aft ventral phaser banks, so why doesn't she have them (other than the fact that the designers were too lazy to do so with the Connie, Excelsior, and even the Ambassador had to wait for fans to give her some)?

She really doesn't need aft ventral because her midships ventral banks have a good LoS in the aft arc (see the orthos).

Oh, and that ortho set does have an error: it omits the aft dorsal set of emitters over the shuttlebay.

Fortunately, I saw the after dorsal phaser banks in the video, so I didn't mention them. And I mean that the fantail area is still relatively unprotected.

It's not bad. Would like to see the other two views, but I'm guessing this is all that's out...

Reminds me of the old fandom Alaska Class 1701-C. Still, nice work.

Mystic Spenny has apparently created the most perfect starship ever, in all of Star Trek history. If you don't believe it, just ask Mystic Spenny.

Well, if we were wondering what a lovechild between a Constitution and an Excelsior-class would look like, now we know. :)

Not a big fan of the design, personally. It's a bit clunky and lacks the grace of either of the 2 designs it combines.
