I liked this McCoy

Urban was awesome as McCoy. He stole basically every seen he was in. There were times when I almost was wondering "Man, DeForrest Kelley didn't die, he just got younger".

I also loved Urban as McCoy. At first I thought his portrayal was TOO CLOSE to the original, but I grew to love him.

I also loved Pine's Kirk.

Urban was easily the best thing character-wise about this movie in my opinion. He completely nailed the role and the spirit DeForest Kelly really shone through his acting. I'd love to see more of him in the next installment.

And they did a good job on his action figure...LOOKS just like him..

Everything about his portrayal was spot-on. I never doubted for a moment that this was "Bones" McCoy. A few of the others were more iffy, like Scotty and Chekov. None of them were bad, but I'd rank them this way from most to least convincing:

1. Urban/McCoy
2. Quinto/Spock
3. Pine/Kirk
4. Saldana/Uhura
5. Cho/Sulu
6. Yelchin/Chekov
7. Pegg/Scotty

Intresting listing..I would flip SPOCK and KIRK. I thought, at times, Quinto looked like he was doing a spock impersonation..where as Pine was more "fresh" than just channeling Shatner...

I hope they do plenty with him; he's got personality, plus. And I found him very attractive, in a way I never did with DeForest Kelley.

Robert, I'm kinda thinking that the female fans don't regret a paucity of female roles in the crew, because the male ones are so yummy.

Yeah he was easy on the eye wasn't he? He looked more like the/a captain to me...more manly, yum yum!

He did the best because he was a fan of Trek...so while we all don't want "impersonations" we do want them to embody what the originals did because as someone said earlier...they are the benchmark...so we all loved Urban BECAUSE he nailed the role as McCoy as Kelley originally played him.

Oh, that's right; he is a big Trek fan. I haven't read all the posts in this thread; it's huge. LOL I think people like him.
