I like sheep...

I ate a goat stew in Andorra once, it was very tasty but full of smashed bone. I am quite sure they shot a goat from the bottom of the mountain, waited for it to fall all the way down and then threw it in the pot.

Goat is awesome. I love a good goat curry, and one of the very best meals I ever had was slow-roasted kid. The meat just fell off the bones.

The taste was okay, but the consistency of it was like nothing I had ever eaten before. It was like someone had already chewed the food and put it in my mouth.

I've never known anyone who's been to Andorra before. In fact, I think I've only met about three people who have heard of Andorra before. :rommie:

I've been to Andorra too, though I don't recall having the goat stew... ;)

I can also tick off Monaco and the Vatican City on my bingo card of small european nations. I'd like to visit Luxembourg and Lichtenstein; I hear they're very scenic, with some nice cafes, restaurants and castles. I don't really know anything about San Marino, beyond the fact that it's so small, it's F1 Grand Prix race actually has to take place in Italy.

My friend has been to Andorra before, she went skiing, what ever that is......?!

I've been to Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, San Marino and Monaco; never been to Rome so no Vatican and I haven't been to Andorra although I was very close twice already. Luxembourg doesn't really belong in the same category, it's small but it's much bigger than any of the others. It's very nice though, one of my favourit places I've ever been.

There's really nothing in Liechtenstein; it's a bunch of barely connected villages that don't feel any different from the neighbouring regions of Austria and Switzerland. You could drive through the country without ever noticing that you did (literally, since the borders are open).

I don't know, I just liked it a lot, can't really point to why; the way it "felt" to be there, the way the people acted etc, I thought it's a friendlier version of the Netherlands/Belgium basically (although I like the Netherlands too). I was only there for a couple days also though.

I've never been to Andorra but I've drunk alcohol bought in Andorra. I guess it doesn't count ;)

It's a fairly well known destination for Europeans, I (probably like most of the folks who have visited it in this thread) went there for a weeks snowboarding/skiing.

Although, as lovely a place as it is, I would not go snowboarding there again, far too busy.

I was so-so on Luxembourg. The city is reasonable but I spent a couple of days there and felt that was enough?

You went to luxembourg and none of you *bothered* to tell me!!!
I'm so disappointed! :(

Huh, maybe I misheard and someone was talking about Luxembourg and I thought they said Lichtenstein.

What was San Marino like? Anything interesting to see, or purely a "yep, done it" exercise?

<snip>

Don't suppose you were there in the summer of '78?

No. Funnily enough, I'd have been in the USA then (my dad was working there for a year or so around that time).
