I know who Kirk's gonna be!!!

FYI, I could see Fillion as McKenzie Calhoun... in fact, I think he'd be the PERFECT Calhoun... but not so much as Kirk.

he looks a bit old to play a young kirk

Maybe imdb is lying about his age? At 31, he's ONE year older than Quinto. Ah hell, slap some makeup on the guy, he'll look young enough.

But if theyre going for an out of the academy 20s Kirk, he wouldnt.

They can't go for a Kirk much younger than 25 or so, now that they have a thirty-year-old playing Spock, who is supposed to be a couple years older than Kirk but he's also a Vulcan, and that should make him look younger compared with a human of comparable age. All things considered, I think they're locked into getting a Kirk of around 30.

the actors actual age isnt what is important its the age he looks, and god help me if this Trek ends up with a 40 yrs old guy trying to pass for early 20s, last I checked the movie wasnt called StarTrek: 90210OC

Actually in two of those photos, he looks more like Jeffrey Hunter. Top centre and top right, for those interested. It's the steel blue eyes... whereas Shatner has the more warmer brown.

Good call Termis! You're far better at this than I.

Considering this fellow is in JJs new monster movie I'd say the chances of this being the new Kirk are pretty high! I'll put 3000 quatloos on the newcomer!

Hmm. I wonder who he was on BtVS?

Sorry, can't figure out how to work links - you'll just need to look him up.

Oh Paul Rudd! THAT guy, I didn't know his name. He's the "how I know you're gay"/video store exhibitionist guy to me.

Yeah I guess he could be Kirk. Kinda, I dunno - squishy. :D But that's the sort of thing you can't really tell. He's always been in squishy roles, what if he had more of a hard-charging leadership-type character? Maybe he could surprise us.

Sure is cute, isn't he? :D

Now here's the irony, he's SEVEN years older than Eion Bailey. Grandpa!

But this is actually a pretty good idea. Rudd isn't a massive movie star, so he'd do TV probably, and he's done TV shows, but he's also recognizable to fans of Judd Apatow. He'd bring in a different fandom from the people who'd come in thru Trek or Heroes.

Considering this fellow is in JJs new monster movie I'd say the chances of this being the new Kirk are pretty high!

The crypto-Godzilla remake? Is he the new Greg Grunberg?

I think Bailey could be a great Kirk. Haven't you suggested him before, Temis? I remember someone doing so in the past, and I thought it was a great idea even then.

Don't see Shatner or Kirk in either of their faces, but they do look like the guys who park cars at my golf club.

It wasn't my idea originally - someone here (still here?) saw that picture of him from that Stephen King anthology last (?) summer, the one based on HP Lovecraft (which is upper middle in my little montage), and alerted us all to his resemblance to Shatner, which wasn't as obvious in BofB, when he was wearing a helmet and covered in mud all the time. But I jumped on the idea pretty quickly as my favorite. :D

Speaking of BofB, let's not forget Ron Livingston. That series of his is toast, he's got plenty of time. He's not as good a match for Kirk, but close enough I'd say.

Bailey could work. It will have to be someone with a similar history, regardless.

Livingston is Gary Mitchell... I mean, just imagine Ron Livingston playing Gary Lockwood's scenes from WNMHGB... he's a near-perfect match, at least IMHO.

You seriously can't see Kirk in that picture on the top right? :wtf:

P.S. Shouldn't the title be "I know who's gonna be Kirk!!!"? ;)

In the bottom left picture, he looks like Christopher McDonald as Enterprise C's Richard Castillo.

Bottom left is pretty weird, the way he's squinting. He also appears to be wearing lavender lipstick. I dunno what that was from, maybe some historical epic about the Amish?
