I have made peace with the fact...

That we will get either no or very limited answers to a majority of the mysteries of LOST. I have let go all the anxiety of getting answers and figuring out all the mysteries. I am at peace with it.

Congratulations. I am hopeful that the mysteries that I care about will be answered, though I certainly don't expect them to cover everything.

We all want everything to be answered, but I don't think it can happen, there are too many questions at this point. You'd have to make a several hour long episode of just going through a checklist of things to answer, and it would be boring, and it sill wouldn't answer everything, heh.

Yeah. Exposition is the only way to get around to answering even half of the questions the show has generated at this point. :(

But they, they "always had everything figured out."

Exactly. but look at it this way...

If they answer a few of the big questions, we will at least be able to keep coming to the Lost forum and endlessly debate and theorize about all of the other smaller unanswered questions and how they fit into the "big picture" for years. :p

or at least until the next really good show comes along that we can all argue about.

Yes, I'm still hoping for an umbrella reveal, that manages to tie up the show in a way, which provides closure to a lot of our mysteries. You couldn't ever truly expect them to address each question the show has generated, on camera, but there is still the possibility that many of our important curiosities will have the potential to be understood better, by re-examining the show as a whole, once it's complete, & if they're as good as I hope, They could even have tie ins with some of the littler stuff too.

I'll look forward to the eventual "What didn't they answer?" thread

Being the eternal optimist, I believe that they'll provide answers to most if not all of the major questions we have left. I could certainly be wrong but I do think they have a plan and I think starting this next week, we're going to start getting some big questions answered.

I think that some answers will be given by the creators in answering fan questions for items that could not be covered in the series.

^possibly, but they've mentioned on their podcast numerous times where they've stated they wouldn't and would forever keep it a mystery. but who knows.

The reason we are not getting answers is because I think they will have one all-encompassing answer for just about every question like "Jacob did it with his magic",etc. This answer can be applied to any of the 47,000 currently unanswered Lost mysteries. I enjoy Lost more now that I gave up on getting answers before the Sundown episode. Ignorance is bliss, baby.

I'm still waiting for them to explain why there were no hairbrushes in anyone's luggage.

I'll bet they think I forgot! :klingon:

It will go on...for...years... :D

Hey, let's start it now!

I'm still waiting for them to explain why there were no hairbrushes in anyone's luggage.

I'll bet they think I forgot! :klingon:

The Smoke Monster, knowing it would one day be trapped in the form of a bald man, destroyed them all in a fit of rage.

The Others stole them to analyze the DNA in the hair strands stuck in the brushes - something about the fertility treatments. Possibly to ID the "candidates." (If their names were not known other than by DNA analysis.)

I have half a dozen or so things that I really want to see resolved by the end of the series. Anything beyond those will be a bonus.

Yeah. Exposition is the only way to get around to answering even half of the questions the show has generated at this point. :(

I'm bound to be in a tiny minority on this, but I've never minded exposition. Some of my all-time favorite moments in movies, TV, books, etc. is when that one important, know-it-all puppet master-type guy waltzes into the room and says something like, "You fools! Don't you understand?", and then proceeds to explain what the hell is going on. I'm a sucker for good exposition! :)
