Facebook, fuck you, has timelined me AGAINST MY WILL.

I need Janeway and I need her now. She has to come and extract me from the timeline doing willy nilly damage (collateral of course, the best kind) in the process.

How do I contact her. Do I need to pretend to be 7 to get her attention. I feel like a Bajoran prophet, nothing is linear any more.

It's like beating a medusa head to death trying to keep any privacy there. Every little pissy thing has its own setting as to whether the whole world sees it or not, even stuff like reading a linked newspaper article. All these settings are in different places. Sometimes they seem to mysteriously reset to the base privacy setting which is "Tell the Whole Planet".

On the plus side if you ever want to stalk someone it's a goldmine.

I'm always on top of the settings. It keeps me on my toes, though. They don't seem to reset on my page. Anyway, if anything resets, it resets to Friends Only. I guess I made sure to set something before they took it away and now even though it's gone, it's running in the background.

Stalking is an interesting topic since I was stalked by attractive women on facebook. I declined them because of their shallowness. If they are adding me just because I'm 6'9" and handsome, I'm not interested.

Really, though, it's because I don't date over facebook. They might not even be who they say they are.

My MSN messenger was practically raped by spam bots pretending to be horny teenage co-eds. Dozens of variations on a theme launching at my inbox every day...

Yes, I do have a picture on the public version of my profile so people that I know can recognize me.

No, these messages were very different and occurred too irregularly to be started by the same person. They didn't even advertise anything.

No one can message me if I'm not already their friend. So you might want to check out that particular setting. I've only ever had orcs, Vulcans and hot female captains as my photo.

I had no idea 6'9 was considered a desirable stalking attribute.

Yeah, in a few of my profile pictures I had, you could tell I was tall by my surroundings, maybe not my exact height, but that I was tall.

I don't mind getting messages from people who I'm not friends with... no one sends me messages unless they're asking things like are you the so-and-so from my such-and-such group?

The stalking stopped anyway when I hid my Interested In and Relationship Status.

I basically hate everyone and am enraged by social contact I did not initiate myself. Facebook really is an uphill battle for me. If it wasn't for the nagging fear I was going to miss something I would nuke it.

And I should add that FB stalking has brought me a huge amount of mirth.
