I hate waiting

Miss Chicken

Little three legged cat with attitude

It is a little after 1pm here. I have been waiting all day for some new furniture to be delivered. I wish they would hurry up and deliver it as it is arriving flat packed and I want to assemble it today if possible.

Is there something that you particularly hate waiting for?

^ I hate waiting for my wife at family gatherings. She says it's time to go, I get everything/one together and - 15 minutes later, we leave.

I hate waiting for anybody to come install anything. A couple years ago, I took an afternoon off of work so the cable guy could come by. He never showed.

I hate waiting on anything mail-order, but that's the only way to get certain things around here. Yeah I could drive to a store that had them, but the amount in time and gas wasted on a "maybe" is offset by the shipping cost and the guarantee of getting what I need.

Waiting for something to arrive by mail doesn't usually bother me except when I buy something off the internet for a certain friend of mine. She keeps ringing up to see if her item has arrived and is disappointed when I say no.

Sleep. He is elusive and if he comes it is after hours of fitful tossing and turning in bed. And yes, I realized the entendre as I completed the sentence. I figure it's more fun to leave it as it is.

I usually hate waiting for other people to go somewhere. The thing is, they could be ready to go at any moment, so I can't go do something else, so I usually just pace around until they're ready, which is annoying.

But, considering I'm posting two minutes after TSQ in the same timezone, sleep is another good example.

I am so annoyed. i have just phoned the furniture and discovered that the saleman didn't make my booking. I have the docket that clearly states the delevery date as today. The woman I spoke to was apologetic but couldn't book me in until next Tuesday.

The worst thing about it is that, because of my disability, I normally have to lie down in the afternoon. Now I am in pain because I have been up all day waiting for this delivery and even lying down peobably won't relieve the pain.

Sorry to hear that, Miss Chicken. I hate it when companies do that.

I'm usually a patient man, but yes, I too don't particularly like waiting. Like today, for instance, I was waiting in line outside a movie theatre for tickets... for hours... partly during a thunderstorm. If I'd had any sense, I'd have just left, but I wasn't going to give up that easily.

It wasn't terribly pleasant, but at least the movie was enjoyable.

There has only been one time thatI have had to wait in line for more than a few minyes at a cinema. It was for the first showing og The Two Towers.

I had bought my tickets weeks befofe but we had been told to show up early id we wanted good seats. We turned up about 90 minutes before the starting time. We actually had a good time waiting. Two guys in the crowd put on their own impromptu version of Lord of the Rings which was quite amusing. I was seating (on the floor) next to a 10 year old boy who really knew the books. People were quizzing him. His mother was very proud of his knowledge.

I kept hoping someone who had memorised the books would shout "that's not right" at some point in the movies.

When Edoras was first seen on the screen someone (obviously a Monty Python and the Holy Grail fan) shouted out "It's only a model....". Many people laughed. It is unsual for anyone to shout out at all during movies in Tasmania (and the person overlooked the fact that Edoras wasn't a model).

I'm a pretty patient person, but I like my computer to handle things instantly and I do wish shipping from Hong Kong was faster.

I got tired of waiting for some software to arrive in the mail, so it came in the FedEx truck..

Smacks self on forehead.
