I hate St. Patrick's Day

My campus is filled with a bunch of green, drunken morons. At three o'clock in the afternoon! Some guy ran out from between parked cars and I almost nailed him. Six year olds are taught not to run out from between parked cars, let alone university students.

Thank God I live a ways away from campus. I've seen numerous young girls already falling down drunk. These people are gonna' be unconscious before nightfall.

I loved St. Patrick's Day BECAUSE I could be drunk at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Our St. Patricks Day parties always started at 6am!

T'Baio, i hate it too. But the weekend is worse than the actual day here because that's when my entire town gets drunk. I really hate it.

It's sad how many university students, supposedly the great minds of our future, will get completely blazed based on a premise as flimsy as the pretense of celebrating St. Paddy's day. Why even have the pretense? How many people actually care about the Irish tradition? It's just an excuse to drink, that's it, and that's sad.

You should see the spike in sexual assault reports on campus after this week every year. Just plain sad.

College students like to drink. This is not new information. They don't need St. Patty's Day as an excuse to drink. They'll do it any day of the week.

St. Patty's Day is an excuse to have a party.

That sounds fairly annoying and dangerous. I've never really experienced that and I generally barely notice it's St. Patrick's Day, so the holiday itself doesn't really bother me.

I recommend Southern Comfort myself. :)

St. Patty's Day is an excuse to have a party.

Party does not have to equal act like an unsafe retard. There are students covering the ROOF of one of the residences.

I guarantee if one of those kids fall and die, no one would blame him. They would blame the university for not keeping him safe and someone would probably sue the school.

It gets worse around here every year.

Drinking and partying is one thing...this is another.

I think the fact that we used to drink so early on St. Patty's Day was a good thing. We were usually in bed by late afternoon!

Saying it's okay to get trashed or getting drunk yourself doesn't automatically mean you condone someone getting behind the wheel in that condition.

At least you only have one of them. My school, for whatever reason, has decided that it needs "State Patty's Day" in addition to St. Patrick's Day, so on February 28th we had to contend with students projectile vomiting all over the buses, bus stops and my couch. It was lovely.

Your campus? My whole bloody country is filled with them right now!

As a true Irish man, of long Irish descent, I fully reject any celebration of the so called "Saint Patrick".

He was one of a long line of Englishmen who enforced foreign institutions on our country and people and eradicating a vibrant indigenous culture. He helped put in place a powerful organisation that holds sway over our people, that is only backing down after so many centuries because so many of its members like to fuck children and hey, even the Irish can only take so much of that thank you very much.

"Unofficial St. Patrick's Day" is a common practice in Illinois. I think it was held this past weekend.
