I got carded!! At my age!!

I've been carded all but once going into casinos
Wow... I've never seen anyone carded going into casinos

I was carded at Casino Niagara about six or seven years ago. And all I wanted to do was grab a coffee at the Starbucks in the lobby - I was on my way to a bridge tournament in the adjoining hotel.

During the tournament, we went over to the casino about four or five times because the guy I was playing with likes to play craps. I was carded every time. And because I don't have a driver's license, it was a real pain - they didn't want to accept my birth certificate. Finally, the doorman said, while holding it, "Okay, when were you born?" (As if I wouldn't have memorized the information if I was trying to use someone else's ID.) I rattled off my date and time of birth, the name and location of the hospital, and the name of the doctor who delivered me. He let me in. :D

I was very lucky not to get carded in Vegas back when I was 17 and illegally gambling in one of the casinos there - I won the jackpot on the slots and the machine ran out of coins. I had to wait around for the guy to come round and reload the machine so it could finish the payout.

I was a bit nervous that they'd ask for ID and refuse to pay me, so I figured the best option was to accept a free drink while I waited.

If anything should have tipped them off that I was underage, it should have been my asking for a frigging strawbery daiquiri...

(sadly the jackpot was just on the nickel slots, so I didn't exactly get enough to retire on... still, was pretty cool at the time!)

I got carded this summer in London when buying cider (to bring home) at M&S. Honestly, I think the cashier guy was just trying to hit on me. Sadly for him, Belgian IDs no longer contain address information! :D
(and the look on his face when trying to decipher the gibberish on it was priceless)

I go carded last year at a supermarket when I was in my baseball cap and gym clothing (buying post workout food and wine for the weekend).

Lady at the counter asked for ID and when I produced it she said "Is this fake? U don't look 21, let alone 29"

So I produced my police warrant card and said "well, you have to be 18 1/2 to have one of these so can we just say I'm just about old enough and be done with it?"

She needed better glasses. On a good day I can pass for 26 or so.

Hugo - Ahh, 30... I barely want to know thee

Congratulations. This is phase one of learning how to abuse having a police warrant card. Next, illegal seizure of narcotic substances. :D

I work at a school as an IT guy. (students average age is 17.)

I can walk into a classroom undetected. In fact I got some teachers asking me to stop messing around with the computer and pay attention. I'm 28.....:guffaw:

I very VERY rarely show my warrant card, but she had that look which I've seen on my colleagues faces: the look of "Is this ID REAL?" Raised eyebrow, flicking the drivers license again and again in the light to look at the hologram.

I wasn't in the mood for arguing. Not like I flashed it to get into a nightclub for free, which is a very regular occurrance here in London.

Hugo - NEVER wants the Dept of Professional Standards sniffing around him

My 72 year old father gets carded regularly. The cops are into entrapment here, so all the drug stores are really scared of getting busted.

Honestly, I don't care how old you are.
Aww... There are times when I forget it in my car. There are times when I leave my wallet in my other pants (forget to switch when I go home) It happens
And it's technically illegal for you to purchase alcohol without ID anyway, regardless of age.
Is it? That I didn't know. I know that at BJ's I was never carded when people that looked older than me were carded simply because I knew the people there. They knew I was over 21... Are you sure that it's illegal if they don't have the id on them
Technically.

If you're obviously over 21 it's not an issue because nobody is going to check, but even a 90-year old still technically needs their ID in order to prove it if some highly unlikely and absurd situation came up. For all I know you could Robin Williams from that movie where he played the kid who aged really fast.

There is a store in my town and there is a sign on the door, stating that if your want to buy alcohol or cigeretts you must have your ID. NO EXCEPTIONS

Wow... what's the use of having the badge if you can't get perks with it?

You're using it wrong!
