I got a new job, it's awesome

I work for the unions now. 8:30am - 4:52pm. 1 RDO a month. More super, annual leave loading, clothes allowance, free life insurance, and best of all very little work for a lot of money. I have hit the jackpot, this place is a gold mine, I feel like a prospector in Ballarat only without having to physically exert myself because mine is an office job.

Coupled with my newfound ability to ride a bike I am in a pretty good place right now.

You probably don't know me that well or at all so don't feel obligated to reply. I am 'un venting'

Oh yeah, and I spent Easter weekend with my brother - I got an extra day off because I work for the unions - and we went laser tagging, mini golfing, online gaming (he beat me at Age of Mythology the bastard) and the footy of course. Great to see the bummers get beaten by 30 odd points

I know someone who works for a subsidiary of a union; from what she's told me, her boss is actually a completely unstable f'ing nightmare and well worthy of taking to an industrial tribunal. Pretty ironic, really.

Union jobs....

I used to belong to the I.L.A. while working for an international shipping company. Hated it. The company went from non-union to union, and there was a sharp drop in employee performance and quality. Those who attained seniority basically sit around and do nothing. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

I got out 3 months after the company went union. The company went under 6 months after I left. My first and only (so far) experience with unions has left me with sour tastes.

Second, I hope you agree with the union's politics or you will shortly be VERY pissed off at how much money gets spent supporting political causes and candidates you don't want supported.
