I found the most amazing walk-through of the E-D Main Shuttlebay

That would imply that they're interested in talent. It's more likely that they just want to quash anything that's better than anything they could ever create.

Youtube can be tricky when it comes to trek. I have issues with copyright due to music. I have not posted on my site yet, but there is a video of the 45 years of Trek Design from the director guild site. I edited the split videos together and posted it as archive. The issue I had was music. They did not take it down (For Now) the I did get a message about Copyright issues.

Now what could have happen is he setup the video to monetize. What I mean is you have an ad in front of the video. I can't remember if he did. After a number of visits you can make money off the video. So I am guessing if he did have a ad in front of the video, that he was making money and that is why they took it down.

So what about Axanar and Renegades and all the other crowd-funded projects that have actual businesses set up behind them that haven't been touched? This response to one little video seems a bit out parity compared with other seemingly greater IP "violations" out there. Something about this all seems very wrong to me and I just can't put my finger on it.

1.) I never been about bringing in other people or projects when it come to things like this. I feel there are some issues with Axanar Production, but I will not go into that right now.

The difference between the Fanfilm and this (I support the 3D Enterprise by the way) and youtube is the issue I pointed out about the ad the run on Youtube. If you reach a number of views you make money if you have enable the ads on youtube. I have posted trek videos, but I did not enable the ad feature. When you enable the ad you can make money off of them.

Not again, if Paramount/CBS wanted them gone, the site would be offline or have been requested to be taken offline...etc

Right now I see its Youtube. Also the music on the show is being used in the video. Youtube is been big on cracking done on that due to contracts they have with the music industry.

Again I suspect that he had enable the ads in youtube. Please correct me if he did not have ads in the video. I think he did. Most of the time issues like this can be fix.

I am not throwing up the flag to CBS. But to be fair to them, they do not have to allow any fan films or anything fans do with Star Trek. So I am happy they let fans do them. You also have to understand this is uncharted areas for both CBS and Fans who do projects like fan films and 3D Projects like this.

I think the best we as fans can do is not bring in other sections like fan films into this because its different (One of the thing Axanar has done and is one of the issues with them.)

The best thing to do when a studio and I mean any studio does a takedown, is to let them know you are a fan and love the project that was taken down and ask what is the issue and find a way to fix it.

Nobody thinks that CBS would actually want to quash stuff that is better than anything they know they can create? Do they? Because that means any one of us can get a C&D notice at any time.
