I finally saw Zombieland

Just watched it myself. It was ok. I for one would rather have a TV series version just for the hell of it. The girls were annoying, the main kid was annoying. Woody Harrelson was good. I know it's not exactly meant to be a serious film, but seemingly infinite gas and electricity seems too dumb even for a comedy. I could do without the romance angle too.

I think this would've benefited from a little more comedy, more focus on the 'rules', and less of an attempt at plot with the silly going to the theme park, or going home to Columbus, or whatever.

You and I might be the only two people who don't adore this movie like everyone else.

Tallahassee and the cameo appearance were both great, but the rest of the movie fell kind of flat. I can suspend my disbelief that they had gas and electricity to get across the country, but the idiot moves from characters who were supposedly adept at surviving the zombie apocalypse killed it for me. What kind of dumbasses light up an amusement park not realizing they're going to attract all sorts of unwanted attention, ditch their vehicle by driving it into the water and then retreat to a totally safe place like...the slingshot ride?

If Shaun of the Dead was a zombie movie with comedy sprinkled in, and this was a comedy with zombies added, I'd take the former any day of the week. The latter just didn't work.

I'm not at all a horror guy but between this and Shawn of the Dead I am becoming a zombine guy :)

I liked the movie a lot, one of the best to come out last year.

Lots of people mention Shaun of the Dead (which I thought was "OK"), but my favorite zomedy up until this movie was Fido.

Been a big Woody fan since Cheers. Once I saw Natural Born Killers for the first time, I was totally sold on him.

I thought the movie was interesting; it even gets a few more points for being a short film at about 88 minutes. However, I was having trouble figuring out what exactly was 'at stake' with the characters....

Finding a twinkie? (That could have been the...um...'MacGuffin').

Okay, there is a wide area of zombie infection; but, the survivors we are focusing on are just going from point to point.

What exactly were they trying to accomplish?

As the film begins all the characters are looking for some normalcy in all the Zombie madness.

Represented in different things - a Twinkie, brushing a girl's hair, hoping to find lost family, visiting a amusement park.

They achieve all of that. No, they do not find there old family members. But they create a new family for each other. Which is what they really need to survive Zombieland as much as the actual rules.

When I walked out of the theater after seeing Zombieland, I knew I was going to buy a copy of it as soon as it came out.

I think the problem was the story was originally written as a tv pilot. So it was mostly there to introduce the characters. They probably shoulda fleshed it out more when it was turned into a movie.

I thought it was a bit fluffy. But still worth seeing.

Loved it too, but there are things that could definetly be imporved for the sequel. However...
Zombieland is fun for the whole family(except for maybe that zombie stripper).
...what the fuck? You seriously saying that the gut munching Zombies and some of the Zombie kills are seriously more appropriate material for the whole family then some tits? I surely it's the most violent Zombie movie ever (in fact I'd like some more gore in the sequel) but seriously? :wtf:

I thought the same thing before even leaving the theater when I had gone to see Four Brothers. Overall, I liked this movie, Zombieland, I found it to be a nice blend of humor and 'horror' while not really focusing on, or being an actual horror movie. The comedic approach, as with Shaun of the Dead is why I like this movie. Sure there were some stupid parts (the whole ordeal of activating an amusement park and continuously stealing from the only other people you've run into in weeks or months, and then acting as if your not the cause of their potential death, whatever), but overall, it was funny. I felt that it wasn't so cliched as the typical Zombie movie usually is (and I guess it was, so that should say something).

I certainly look forward to seeing more.

I was joking. I don't expect you to watch it with your whole family.

Ah okay, I see. This demonstrates that humor on the Internet is a hard thing to convey ^^;

I think "Zombieland" is a great movie, and I say that as someone who hates, hates zombie movies and zombies in general.

I have never been much of a zombie film fan but I loved "Zombieland" when I saw it and loved it so much that I went and saw it three times. I will be picking up the DVD finally in a few days. One of the reasons why I think that I loved it so much is that it focused on the humans rather than okay we're infested by zombies lets kick some undead arse! I loved the humor in the movie and the "rules". The chemistry between the four actors was great too. Apperently we'll have to wait a while before "Zombieland 2" comes around but there are plans for one and the writers have a partial script done I read a while ago. There was also some talk about Z2 being 3D...I think they only thing that should be filmed in 3D for the sequel is the Zombie Kill of the Week!!
