It took a long time, but a month ago, I decided to call him "Conan."
Not as in "the barbarian," but as in "the late night talk show host."
Now that I've named him, I can finally give him some attention. You see, he was the victim of neglect - up until a month ago, when he was rescued, he had rarely left a cage, been petted, or interacted with. I say rarely because I don't feel I can honestly say never, but he acts like never. If you sit him in your lap, he will lay down as small as possible against you.
I hope he starts to become friendlier now that I have something to call him.
