I Don't Have A Favorite...

I was thinking about my favorite characters from each series...Hoshi/ENT, 7 Of 9/VOY, Jadzia Dax/DS9 & Data/TNG...and I really don't have a favorite from TOS...I liked TOS and all...but I feel I may like all the characters equally enough where I don't have a favorite.

Do you have a favorite TOS character...I would like to hear who & why...this may help me a little.

I'll submit that EVERYONE likes Scotty.

I can see where people would not care for some aspects of Kirk or McCoy or Spock or others. But Scotty?? Come on! Who doesn't like Scotty? Who could possibly have any gripes about him?

I'll submit that I'm another Scotty fan. Who can't like that old Aberdeen pub crawler?

Kirk - He always seemed a little too arrogant for my tastes.
Spock - Easily my second favorite, his wise cracking remarks were fun, but at times somewhat irritating.
McCoy - He was enjoyable, but often struck me as less-than-vaguely racist towards any non-Humans.
Sulu, Chevok, Uhura - None of them had enough screentime for me to either like or dislike them.

I could never decide between Kirk and Spock, which is probably a good thing.

Agreed about Scotty. If you don't like Scotty, you're probably dead inside. I prolly appreciate Spock more as an adult, but as a kid, Kirk squeaked by as my fave. He was the man who got the job done, won the fight and got the girl....and usually let her go. Plus he was the captain of the most awesome spaceship ever..so there's that too.

Scotty was the man, but I guess my favourite was McCoy.

If I have a clear favorite in a show, it's definitely Spock in TOS.

In TNG it's Data or Picard, in DS9 I like most of the characters and I have several favorites (though Kira is #1), in VOY... I like The Doctor and Tuvok and occasionally Seven, in ENT it's quite even as most of the crew grew on me, except for poor Travis who was never fleshed out.

I love all of the big four, of course: Kirk, Spock, Bones, Scotty. But kirk and Spock are just so... Kirk and Spock.

I have a very soft spot for McCoy; and the triad in general. I wouldn't be much interested in ranking the guys, but they're my picks.

I think I related to Spock the most. You know the way he had sex only once every seven years.....

I think Spock for me as well, as has been mentioned above he is one of the coolest characters ever created. I think a big part of that appeal was Nimoy's great interpretation and portrayal of the character.

Mind you, Kirk & McCoy are great characters as well. The dynamic between those 3 is, imo, the distilled essence of the show.

I like Scotty; except for his rampant alcoholism...

Kirk is The King however.

Agreed, whenever he'd go off on a tear about something he'd remind me of my grandma. She was exactly like that.

With me he's a lot like my Dad. His family was from Georgia and I was actually born there on De Kelley's birthday.
