I do not like MCU films

I always figured that the reason 'The Spirit ' ended up such a clusterfuck was that Frank Miller kept subconsciously mixing it up with 'The Shadow'. Two properties that don't mesh well at all.

Or Miller's a bit one-note and can now only do name-changed variations on his Sin City comics. You decide!

Or Frank Miller is a far better comic writer* than a film director and Sin City had Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino helping him out.

* Even then, he has declined dramatically since his days of Born Again and The Dark Knight Returns.

Hence, 'now he can only do Sin City...'

Of course, he could always write another classic again and leave me eating my words. He does want a go at Captain America, which could be...interesting.

If we still had the Ultimates universe, I could see him taking a shot at it, but leave him away from the regular one.

That being said, his Captain America back when he wrote Born Again for Daredevil was perfect in tone. The Frank Miller back then almost certainly wouldn't have written what more modern Frank Miller would have.

The Ultimates line has ended with 'Secret Wars.' It's meant to be all one 'verse again. So far I think only Miles Morales has been shown to have kept existing.

The Ultimate verse ended (unofficially) back in 2008, with the god awful "Ultimatum" crossover. Ultimate X-Men, FF and Avengers all ceased publication, but Ultimate Spider-Man kept going on. With Peter first and then in 2012 with Miles Morales. Now they've integrated Miles into 616, so the Ultimate verse is "officially" dead.

The Maker, aka Ultimate Reed Richards, has been seen post-SW in New Avengers.

Also, it's more than one 'verse as Spider-Gwen is continuing as before.

Okay, this is an old thread and I understand I may get in trouble for this...

...But really, after DC's attempts at their "Mature" movies compared to MCU's All-Ages approach, I just thought it was important to bring this back up.

Why?

I thought we all agreed that it was a different strokes, for different folks kind of thing. DC/WB hasn't delivered us a Fan4stick yet, so why resurrcet a dead thread?

Because we've had two hyped up examples of how their Universe and Movies were supposed to be "Dark" and "Mature"...and both have failed against MCU's contributions this year so far.

And failed in general.

^^
So... you resurrected an "I don't like MCU" thread to say you don't like DCEU?

You may think so, but I don't. To be frank, I've been more impressed by DC's 2016 output than Marvel's, this year . . . both in the movies and in television. There may be a lot of people who disagree with me, but there are also a lot of people who agree. So, I don't see how we're all supposed to accept that DC's productions are failures.

Are you saying that Captain America Civil War was immature?

Also Daredevil is way darker than any of the DC CW shows.

Different strokes, mate. The audience has voted with their wallets for all these comic book properties, and the biggest loser so far this year are TMNT 2 and X-Men Apocalypse.
