It all started this morning when my douchebag manager was having his weekly meeting with a supervisor and his two leads from different sections within my department. My boss's office door was closed, but I could hear parts of their conversation as his voice was loud enough to be heard. I was having breakfast at my desk, which was adjacent to his office and about 10 - 12 feet away, and I wasn’t eavesdropping on them. As usual, Ass Boss was moaning and bitching about employees in the department who have had excessive sick leave used, myself included. I overheard him say my name quite a few times along with other names in accounting. Then Ass Boss started spouting bullshit, like “This is why he [Drone] brings in goodies all the time. This is why blah, blah, blah.” Now at that point, I knew he was onto something! He was implying that I was being insincere about my motivations, trying to make up for something, or pretending to be nice, or something to that end. Since the door was closed, it sounded a lot to me like this guy was bad-mouthing me in front of other people, and yet he didn’t have the guts to say it to my face!
I was very offended and upset at that point, and I was just about ready to pound on his door and say something to him, but I didn’t want to create a scene. So instead,I reported the incident to a union chief steward, who contacted the human resources department, which in turn relayed the message to Ass Boss. I didn't want to talk with him in private, nor did I want to ask the other staff who were present at the meeting what specifically my supervisor had told them about me because I didn’t want to put them in an awkward position. I don’t know what’s going to happen after that, and it could potentially turn into a big mess, but we'll see.
As I have posted from time to time , in the past few years and to this day, I’ve had health problems (sleep apnea, anxiety/depression, and now diabetes) among other things. Whenever I meet with my boss, he always says he understands the need to use sick leave at work, but he's concerned that some employees are abusing it and that excessive absenteeism has caused problems as far as personnel coverage and workload, which is totally understandable, and I’m not debating that. But what can you do about people being sick and the need to go to the dentist, doctor, or therapist? Well, right now Ass Boss and other supervisors are currently working on a plan to control the use of sick leave, but this is bordering on harassment and discrimination.
I've never had a problem with management before, but this dirtbag is a backstabbing, two-faced liar and a coward. To point out my shortcomings as an employee is one thing, but I don't appreciate people insulting me behind my back and making false assumptions about my character and integrity.
I wish him a very slow and painful death someday.
