I think the best Bashir episodes are "The Quickening", "Inquisition" or "Our Man Bashir".

If you're new to DS9, a good episode to watch would be Emissary. Followed by the rest of the show.

Yeah, a lot of the Star Trek series you can get away with watching randomly, but DS9 for the most part builds from one episode to the next and has tons of continuity. It's best to watch them in order your first time through.

Not really.

Here it was pre-empted for other things seemingly every two out of four new episodes. I was still able to pick up what was going on when it was on.

A good TV show can be watched in any order.

I loved "Statistical Probabilities"

I couldn't agree more.

Also, Doctor Bashir I Presume.... is another great one. Seeing Lois Zimmerman was awesome.

Except that's not really a mark of quality at all. It just means it's not as heavily serialized as some other shows.
