If she had said she wasn't hungry and had only ordered a couple of cups of tea I wouldn't have minded so much. But she wasn't even willing to do that.
What annoyed me the most was the fact that she made it obvious from the start that she didn't like my choice of venue by announcing even before she opened up the menu that they wouldn't have anything she liked.
She actually said that she didn't mind some of the choices on the kiddie's menu (chicken burger, beef bolognaise). They might have been willing to give her one of these choices at adult prices if she had asked.
I was most annoyed when she refused to have the fish and chips because it was too expensive. I had said for them not to buy me a present but to spend the money on their lunch instead as I really wanted to eat at this place. We always buy for a present for each other on our birthdays - last year I bought her a couple of photo albums for her birthday because she had rcently bought herself a camera and hsd started to accompany me on my camera shoots. In the end she got out of buying me a present and spending anything on the lunch.
