    You can have photo real environments you can't touch, and interactive holograms that don't look photo real before TNG. Janeway's Flotter may have been much more cartoon-like. It's the combination of the two that's new in TNG.

    Agreed. Maybe Janeway’s program was the ‘Oregon Trail’ to the ‘PlayStation’ of advanced holotechnology.
