Hypothetical Saturday Morning Shows Based On Prime Time Ones

Fringe High - Honor student Olivia Dunham investigates mysterious, inexplicable events plaguing her school, with the help of Mr. Bishop, the school's unorthodox--and possibly mad--science teacher, and Peter, Mr. Bishop's estranged, troublemaker son.

The Shield: The Early Years -
Young Victor Mackey and his friends from Little League; nicknamed "The Strike Team," try to beat the rival team of little Davey Aceveda and take down the Armenian ice cream truck.

Baby-lon 5 -
It was the dawn of the third grade of mankind. A tree house in neutral space is a port of call for boys and girls with cooties.

I know this thread is made in pure fun and jest, but it just reminded me how Universal tried to turn the adults-only, gore-heavy, sexually-charged, meta-physical AND meta-normal, multi-layered premium-cable Tales from the Crypt TV show into a kids' franchise, complete with a Saturday morning cartoon and then a kid's game show.

All I'm saying is, you better copyright any ideas you contribute to this thread :)

Wow, you found Tales from the Crypt to be a lot deeper than I did!

Be careful where you talk about this one-some suit is liable to take it serious at the networks and make it....

And Gene-the high school mascot, would be voiced by Frank Welker...And throw in Peter's resuscitated dead beagle (courtesy of Walter and assistant Astrid who has a secret crush on Petey) , Scooter. Hey, there's always a dog around in these things.

Chuck-The Animated Series
Teenager Charles, his best bud Morgan secretly work for the CIA as teen spies!, aided by gruff ROTC senior Casey, and the new transfer student with a secret, Sarah Walker. The duo juggle their crime fighting with part time jobs at CIA controlled Buy More, with manager Gen, Beckman. Teen Jeffster provide background songs during chase sequences.

And, to be fair, the HBO series was based on what was ostensibly a kids' comic book. So, really, you could argue the cartoon was just taking it back to its roots.

Kind of like how Brave and the Bold isn't based on the Nolan movies but on the original silver age Batman comics

Hey Stargate fans, how about this one:

Stargate Atlantis High: the teen version of Stargate Atlantis, but with all of the characters as teens:

John Sheppard: Star quarterback for the Atlantis Starhawks, the main hero, and head of ROTC cadets.

Elizabeth Weir: Main heroine, head of the cheerleading squad, the debate team, and a major brain.

Rodney McKay: Supersmart nerdy guy, and all around pain in the ass-Sheppard must save him from being beaten up by-

Ronan Dex: Big shot of the wrestling team, and a transfer student from the planet Sateda.

Teyla Emmagan: Athosian student with a bit of the Wraith in her; is very sexy and gets all of the boys to go after her. Is star of the girl's soccer team, with some competition between her and Weir.

Carson Beckett: Other smart young dude from Scotland who is a star of the soccer team (Atlantis FC) and a science wiz, as well as well-liked by the others-which makes McKay jealous of him.

Jennifer Keller; Smart and pretty girl who is also a member of the swim team and the Medical Club, as well as the Science Club. Falls in love with Rodney and becomes his girlfriend.

The Teachers

Sam Carter: Teacher of Homeform 8, where most of the students are. Teaches Millitary History, Tactics, and Weapons, as well as Flying and Physics.

Danial Jackson; Science teacher, and archeologist who teaches Ancient Studies.

Principal Hammond: It's obvious what he does!

Jack O' Neil: Phys Ed Teacher.

Teal'c-Assistant Phys Ed Teacher.

There was a documentary series called The Future is Wild that speculated on what future life forms might look like. Then, to my surprise, they made an animated series, also called The Future is Wild, based on the documentary. It's about a young girl, who's on a mission to find a new habitat for humanity in the distant future, and part of her mission is to examine the various forms of life that inhabit these new environments.

I watch that show sometimes on Teletoon; it's quite good.
