Hypothetic Timeline of the Mirror Universe

And even with infinite number of different realities there are still limitations. A drastic difference in history and development would not create the same people.

An infinite number of different realities does guaranteed that, even with a tremendous difference in history, there will be a reality that creates essentially the same people. Anything that is physically possible is guaranteed to happen in at least one reality.

Also I wonder what a Mirror Section 31 would be like....

They would either be a full-blown secret police like the Tal'Shiar or the Obsidian Order, or some kind of resistance movement within Imperial Starfleet Intelligence. That's my guess.

Exept in the shrimp universe. :shifty:

Amazing that the I.S.S. Enterprise saved the mirror universe from dozens of existential threats that presumably still would have occured as in the prime universe. That with a murderous and disfunctional crew, I don't buy it.

I find that a fascinating idea actually, that they DO still get the job done, regardless, that they're perfectly functional in their own way.

They may be ruthless and conniving and treacherous and all, but, it didn't seem to me that operations aboard that other Starship Enterprise ran any less efficiently than our own, though out of a Different set of motivations. Brutal discipline, for one, but discipline nonetheless.

I'm sure you won't find Mister Kyle being careless with the transporter equipment in either universe.

I like the thought that it balances out. Mirror Spock laid it out there pretty well as a mutual profit motive. (And, like our Spock, he was content as first officer / science officer and had no desire to command.) Even Chekov's assassination attempt only happened because our Kirk threw things out of kilter by sparing the Halkans. It gave Chekov a valid excuse. "No one will question the assassination of a Captain who has Disobeyed prime orders of the Empire."

(It was an Imperative, really, considering the speediness of Starfleet's response to Spock's report, though they Were willing to stretch discipline a little and give him those 12 hours, probably due to respect for his record.)

I imagine it's kind of like a pirate ship -- a crew of cutthroats to be sure, but it doesn't mean any of them particularly want to step up and challenge the Captain or take on that leadership role, so long as their missions succeed and there's plenty of booty to go around.

In a crisis situation, if it looks like he's gonna get 'em all killed, maybe then Mirror Kirk has to fend off a higher rate of mutinous sniping from the crew, but I'm sure it helps to have an Enforcer like Mirror Spock as his first mate to keep the rest in line.

Kirk finds a way to win in either universe. Our Kirk has the loyalty of his crew, Mirror Kirk has the Tantalus Field.
