I know what you're saying. Patrick McGoohan?! But he was quite the looker in his youth and I always thought he had a dignified look about him no matter his age. This is a man who probably needs little introduction as he has been in practically everything made before 1990. His most famous role is, of course, as the enigmatic and angry number 6 in the BBC miniseries The Prisoner much of which McGoohan wrote under various names. Another large rolefor him was as the warden of Alcatraz in the classic Clint Eastwood film Escape From Alcatraz and it was a great part for him.

A little known fact is that he was offered the part of James Bond but turned it down as he felt the film was too degrading towards women (and, let's face it, some of those early Bond films were ).

Here he is:

As John Drake, Secret Agent Man, or as The Prisoner, aka #6, he was the COOLEST man ever--or at least I thought so, as a teenager.

A thumbs-up from me!

Good choice! Definitely one of the coolest guys ever, especially as Number 6. Also, he made a fantastic antagonist on Columbo. My inner chick would go for him in a New York minute. :bolian:

As one who goes a bit further back I fell for him on the Disney shows, "Scarecrow of Romney Marsh" and "The Three Lives of Thomasina."

He was one of my first hunk/crush types and I even found him still hot in "The Phantom"

Great choice!

I haven't really seen that much of him, since I've only seen him in a movie about Mary Stuart (can't remember the title - the one with Vanessa Redgrave and Glenda Jackson), Braveheart, and some YT clips from Prisoner. But from what I've seen, he seemed quite handsome and charismatic. He wasn't that bad even as an old guy. So, thumbs up.

He has a quality, but I wouldn't call him a hunk. I'm giving him a thumbs up for sentimental reasons, though. Is that allowed?

OH, btw, I need a volunteer to do the Hunk thread this coming week, as I will be too busy and/or out of town.

Any takers?
