This week, in honor of the 10th's Doctor's soon-to-be final appearance, I have decided to do a repeat, and go with David Tennant. He previously appeared on the list at #22, and he is here again at 134.
David Tennant (born David John McDonald on 18 April 1971 in West Lothian, Scotland) is a Scottish actor. In addition to his work in the theatre, Tennant is best known for his role in Doctor Who as the tenth incarnation of the Doctor.
Tennant developed his career in the British theatre, frequently performing with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He also starred in many BBC TV dramas, such as "Casanova," "Blackpool" and "The Quartermass Experiment."
In film, he has appeared in Stephen Fry's Bright Young Things, and as Barty Crouch Jr. in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. One of his earliest big screen roles was in Jude (1996), in which he shared a scene with Christopher Eccleston, playing a drunken undergraduate who challenges Eccleston's Jude to prove his intellect.
In 2005, he was cast as The Doctor, the lead character in the long-running science fiction program, "Doctor Who." Since 2009, he has hosted "Masterpiece Contemporary" on the American PBS network. He is currently working on a pilot for NBC, called "Rex is Not Your Lawyer," co-starring Sendhil Ramamurthy.
