I was 12 when Trek first ran on tv. I remember Trek-mania. Lunchboxes, comic-books. This was pre video, pre dvds. If you wanted to experience an episode again you had to read the James Blish paperback collection of his 'novelizations' of the episodes. (Remember that book? With the rocket flames shooting out of the shuttlecraft bay?
).
When the new movie hits I think it will be the same thing. In those days we just had to wait a week for a new episode. This will be a two hour movie...then nothing. We'll want more!!! I hope the book people will embrace the new continuity. I hope we get that spinoff tv series that the guy from 'Pushing Daisies' wants to do.
Oh, and before I forget...we need a cool cutaway poster of the new E!!!!!
