Humans and time travel

Whofan

Fleet Captain
In the new series and to a degree Torchwood we've seen many uses of the vortex manipulator. I think the VM is actually sort of similar to the Time Ring from Tom Baker's first season, where the TARDIS was rarely used.

This got me thinking about humans and time travel in the Whoniverse. It's sort of implied in a lot of serials/episodes that future humans have time travel....although not to the degree of the time lords (who use capsules) and Daleks (Who mainly use corridors). Talons of Weng-Chiang interestingly features references to time agents and the century Captain Jack is from originally (51st) and presumabely this inspired Moffat and RTD to create the new series Time agent lore. It also features "The Time Cabinet" which is unstable.

So what's your view of human time travel in the Whoniverse?

Of course in Utopia there's a mention by Yana after hearing the Doctor and Jack talk: "There's Time travel! They said there was time travel in the old days...I never believed!"
-Of course this might just be Yana referring to his remaining memories of being the Master...but it could be referring to time travel as a lost technology used by humans.

honestly there are so many who spin offs, It makes me wonder if River song will eventually get her own, and it involve the time agents, and her adventures with that organization..intersecting with the doctors adventures..even a cameo by smith..or later docs..

that would be cool..

sorry this didn't answer your question, i need to research this time agency and other instances before I can properly give my answer..:techman:

Some of the books even suggested that humans would probably have time travel right now, except the Time Lords interfered with our development to stop us getting it for a few thousand years.
