Human Error - The Most Depressing Episode of the Series

Again, you've given me no proof that Seven isn't "human enough" to have a relationship.

The fact that she was only experienced human emotions for a fraction of the time the rest of us do before having a relationship, the fact that she had a holo-addiction, the fact that she had an emotional dampener on her which would have deadened her emotional reactions to anything happening to her, etc, etc, etc.

You've given me no proof that anyone marrying his or her first love is doomed to failure.
As I've indicated my parents married at 19 and 20 and are still in love today. I never said marrying a first love is doomed to failure in fact I'm living proof that it is not. My point is that my parents had years of EMOTIONAL experience before getting married.

IDIC, yanno?
I've already indicated multiple times in this thread that we're going to have to agree to disagree. IDIC means accepting and respecting the differences of others including a difference of opinion. So I accept that you're never going to agree with me and that's that and I'm done with this thread.

And, just as my repeating the same thing over and over wouldn't make you change your mind, so your doing so doesn't make me change my mind. Sorry.

Funny, that also means *respecting* the differences of others--and their opinions.

I've given you props where I could see your POV. You have given me none--and even went so far as to call me a liar.

I guess "respect" to you means something different than it does to me.

Have a great day. :)

Ah, now I was just about to start a thread for this episode, but since there's already one here, I'll use this.

Now, apparently Seven has this Borg implant that causes her to shut down whenever she is about to experience higher emotions. SInce this has never been noticed before, does this mean that the breakup with her holographic Chakotay is more emotional for her than ANYTHING she has experienced over the last three and a half years, including Icheb nearly sacrificing himself for her, One, John Kelly, all her mother-daughter moments with Janeway, memories of her parents and so forth?

^^Well, one might think so, but I always thought it had to do more with emotions and "feelings" that come with s.e.x. ;)

Yeah, guilt, grief, fear, anxiety, they're absolutely *nothing* compared to sex.

This is why the arguments that Seven is an emotional child don't ring true to me. She's already dealt with a lot more than most people do in a lifetime--and she's handled it well.

AuntKate, I agree with you that the whole scene about the Borg failsafe could have been more deftly written. BUT: I also think the gist of the whole scene bw Seven and the Doctor is that Seven finally puts the Doc in his place for his intrusive, unprofessional interference in her life. Dont get me wrong, I love their relationship! But the Doctor has been a domineering force in her life, and I applaud Seven for renegotitating this relationship.
