How excited are you for Star Trek XI compared with other Trek incarnations over the years??

I can't say I was overly eager for any of the TNG films, really. Nor Enterprise. I was pretty excited for the Voyager series finale (and then somewhat disappointed ).

But I'm really psyched for Trek XI !!

I'm very excited indeed. And now I have the trailer, I'm even more excited than I was at the start of this post.

I've never sat pissing my pants for anything, even other Trek outings. I am VERY excited!

For me, this would be right up there with the Series Premiere of TNG.

Oh, a lot more excited than before. The last time I got really excited about a Trek movie was with TWOK. But I didn't have the internets in a computer then, so I couldn't follow the buildup as I have with this one. And as it's a bold new direction for Trek to be going in, I'm looking forward to the movie a bit more than I was with TWOK.

Haven't been this excited since TWOK. I know that's setting up for disappointment, but what the hey. At least it's not a TNG movie.

I'm perhaps more excited than I was for Generations and Insurrection, but less than I was about First Contact and Nemesis. Of course I will see it, as I saw them all, so in a dollars and cents way my relative level of interest does not matter much.

The interest is...different somehow, because I don't think I'll be able to accept it as part of the established Trek timeline, so it's rather like watching a fan film or something else I can easily disregard if it makes decisions I don't like. (This is opposed to things I wish I could disregard but really can't, like the dopey joystick in Insurrection or no one being able to keep track of how many decks are on Enterprise-E.)

I think the main difference for me is that I can now disseminate the trailer frame by frame in HD 1080p which I have never been able to do with any previous trek movie. If any of you have been doing this as I have then there is no doubt we are totally obsessed with trek and totally psyched about this movie. Roll on May 8th!!!!!
